| What?s the difference between hardwood and solid wood? |
When you take a log and cut it into slabs, you have solid wood planks. This is the oldest form of wood floor manufacture.
When you take multiple slats of hardwood (mostly pine), glue them together in a crossed pattern, then glue a 1 to 3 or 4mm slat of hardwood on top such as oak, walnut, mahogany, or merbau-you have hardwood?which is also known as engineered wood

| What?s the difference between engineered wood and laminates? |
Engineered wood is what most people know as hardwood. Laminates differ, because they are made from a HDF core (usually pine), they have a photographic image which is bonded to the top of the core board, and is then sealed on top and bottom with a melamine or aluminum oxide coating.
